Teams that book first aid awareness training often pair it with these other accredited courses.

Recognise the signs of poor mental health, support colleagues and help build a healthier workplace culture.

Comprehensive fire warden training covering prevention, evacuation, extinguisher use and the legal duties of the role.

Meet UK manual handling requirements — covering risks, safe lifting techniques and the law for any workplace.
Accidents and sudden illness can happen anywhere — in an office, on a building site, in a shop or at home. In those first few minutes, simple, correct action can make a genuine difference to someone's recovery, and sometimes to whether they survive at all. First aid training removes the hesitation that comes from not knowing what to do, giving learners a calm, practical framework for assessing a situation, keeping a casualty safe and getting the right help quickly.
For employers there is also a clear legal context. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require every employer to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel so that employees can be given immediate help if they are injured or taken ill at work. What counts as "adequate and appropriate" is decided by a first aid needs assessment, which looks at the nature of the work, the hazards involved, the size of the workforce and the workplace's history of incidents. Responsibility for getting this right sits with the employer, supported by managers and any appointed first aiders.
Online awareness training like the course below is a valuable part of that wider picture: it raises first aid confidence across a whole team affordably, supports your appointed first aiders and helps build a culture where people feel able to step in. It is important to understand its scope, though — awareness-level online learning builds knowledge and confidence, but it does not on its own qualify someone as a designated workplace first aider. Roles that require regulated, practical competence are met through classroom-assessed qualifications such as Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or First Aid at Work (FAW).
First aid awareness is relevant to almost every workplace and every individual — these are some of the people who benefit most.
Confidence to respond to choking, falls, fainting or sudden illness while waiting for the emergency services or a qualified first aider.
Front-line staff dealing with the public are often first on the scene when a customer or colleague is taken ill or injured.
Higher-risk environments where cuts, burns, falls and crush injuries make a calm, informed response especially valuable.
Teachers, assistants and childcare workers who want to feel ready to act quickly if a child is hurt or unwell.
Carers, support workers and volunteers who support vulnerable people and may need to respond to a medical emergency.
Anyone who wants the reassurance of knowing the basics of first aid at home, on the road or out and about.
The questions people ask most before booking first aid training.
Yes. Our first aid training is CPD certified and RoSPA approved, so your certificate is recognised by UK employers as evidence of awareness-level first aid knowledge. Online awareness training is a valuable way to build understanding, but it does not by itself qualify someone as a workplace first aider — that role requires practical, classroom-assessed training such as Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).
Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, every employer must provide adequate and appropriate first aid arrangements, equipment and personnel so that staff can be given immediate help if they are injured or taken ill at work. A first aid needs assessment determines how much provision is appropriate. Awareness training like this course helps build a wider first aid culture alongside your qualified first aiders.

This awareness certificate does not carry a fixed expiry date, but knowledge fades over time, so we recommend refresher training every two to three years. Regulated workplace first aid qualifications such as First Aid at Work are valid for three years before requalification is needed.
