Types of Cookies We Use

Basket and essential functions

Our basket stores selected course codes and quantities in your browser’s local storage under the name cart. Local storage is separate from cookies. Checkout and the learning platform may also use storage needed for their services.

The basket remains stored until it is changed or cleared, or your browser removes the site data.
Basket storage contains course codes and quantities. Account and payment information is handled separately by checkout and the learning platform.
Blocking them in your browser may prevent key features of our site or Learning Management System from functioning properly.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, course interest and basket activity. It can set _ga and _ga_… cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. This data is associated with browser and session identifiers.

Google lists a default cookie lifetime of two years, although browser limits and configuration can change this.
Analytics client and session identifiers may be passed to our payment website to measure checkout activity.
This website currently loads its Analytics tag without an on-page cookie preference panel. See the browser controls below.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics is also present on the live site to measure page use and performance. Cloudflare describes this service as not using cookies or local storage for analytics.

This service is separate from Google Analytics and our basket storage.
Cloudflare also provides website hosting and security services, which have their own technical purposes.

External services

Our payment website, learning platform and any social-media pages you choose to visit have their own privacy and storage information.

Payment is handled through our checkout and payment processor.
Course access and progress are handled through the my1hs learning platform.
Review the relevant service’s privacy information when you use it.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can view, delete or block cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Clearing storage may remove your basket; blocking it may affect checkout or course access. This website does not currently have an on-page cookie settings tool.

Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Apply your choices on each browser and device you use. Browser and add-on controls do not necessarily prevent every analytics request.
